Should one quit his private job to try for government jobs?

 “I truly read all kind of advices given by you. Thanks a lot. I am currently working in e-publishing sector but, I want to go for bank job. For that i feel like leaving the current job and prepare for bank exams. but my parents are not allowing to leave the job. kindly advice in this regard.”

REPLY:

I am with your parents only.  They are right.  One should never resign/ quit his present job to TRY for another job.  Because, TIME will not be like this in future.  If there is an economic slow down in future, the appointments may be restricted in various sectar. If you skip your present job, you MAY or MAY NOT get another one immediately. It is like a cat on the wall.

Nothing wrong in trying for still better jobs that suits you better.  But, it SHOULD BE DONE BY BEING IN YOUR EXISTING JOB.

I myself did that mistake. After  studies, I got  Jobs in very good companies.  In fact, I  earned well and was peaceful. But, as I came up from a very poor background, I wanted to be an entrepreneur and prove my talents. So, I started my own venture after resigning my  job. 

I think that I took a wrong decision some years back because running business is against my nature.

You too should not feel so later. So, get a good job as you like first.  After getting that appointment order, give resignation letter to your present job.

This is my general advice for all the youth based on my own experience:

FIRST JOIN WHATEVER JOB YOU GET PREFERABLY IN THE SAME INDUSTRY RELATED TO YOUR STUDIES.   DON’T BE IDLE. THEN, IF YOU LIKE TO SWITCH, NEVER QUIT YOUR PRESENT JOB TILL YOU GET ANOTHER GOOD ONE.

Act safely and BE PEACEFUL. Of course, one should take risks to some extent, but, after ensuring some earning for your livelihood.
